When it comes to accessories, jewelry stands out as the ultimate consideration. It can so easily take the outfit to a great level but a bad choice can also lead towards a disaster. We normally have favorite jewelry that we love to wear like a necklace or a very special ring. However, when going for something that is special, decisions become really complicated.
Normally, people do not buy jewelry with their outfits in mind. We can say that there is no real good or bad way to accessorize but there are some things that you will want to consider about choosing jewelry based on the outfit.
When Should You Be Bold?
When you use bold jewelry, you gain a lot like extra texture, shine, interest for the basic outfit or color pops. Normally, a pair of statement earrings is great if the neckline is interesting or if the fabric/pattern of the outfit manages to stand out alone.
For instance, let’s say you have a red romper that is bold by its own. In this case, you can add a multi-colored necklace to make everything even bolder. The pendant necklace is great when you have a dress or a top that is high-necked or you wear a tee that is simple. An extra example would be the addition of a multi strand bead necklace to a simple white button-up.
When Should You Be Delicate?
There are many statement pieces out there like large necklaces, bracelets or earrings. They do make a statement but when you have clothing that is capable of making a statement alone because of the bright print, interesting neckline or the embellishments, you will want to consider being delicate with your jewelry. Clothes might make all the statement that you want. Also, if you are looking for an outfit that you use for work or a casual look, the jewelry should be simple as it is enough.
Let’s say that you have a geometric, sheer top. In this case you may want to use a pair of simple stud earrings. A high necked dress does not need or want to compete with jewelry. If you are in doubt, a simple silver or gold necklace is usually a really good choice. Just make sure that you do not neglect the importance of length with necklaces.
